[THEME] 2 Corinthians 5:15
And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Sikiliza ndugu zangu, ndugu zangu niwaenzini
Yanitokayo kinywani mwangu, kutoka kwenye nafsi
Yenye hekima manenoangu, nawasihi nisikilizeni
Amani ni ombi langu, sote tuidumishe
Watu wa nyumba "muriega" na wakamba "mwasyata"?
Wenzangu wa kakamega, ndugu zangu wataita
Wazee pia wachanga, hatuyataki matata
Kwa umoja na upendo, tuenezeni amani
Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
This verse draws a relationship between the fear of the LORD and wisdom and explicitly puts it that the source of wisdom is the fear of the Lord.
The fear of the LORD is a deep reverence and awe for God, which comes from knowing and acknowledgingHis power and authority. It's an attitude of having such high esteem and deep love of the LORD, that nothing else supersedes. The fear of the Lord means to shun anything that dishonors His mighty name and contravenes His will. It marks total obedience and submission to the Lord.
Saved by Grace through Faith and not by works
Ephesians 2:8 For it’s by grace you have been saved, through faith and it is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God-not by works so that no one can boast.
I have always been taught by my primary school teacher not to accept anything for free especially from men as a lady. So, I grew up knowing that to earn something, you have to do something in exchange for the reward. We know of statements like “no pain no gain”, and even ''pay first before you eat".
Christians are called to a lifestyle of prayer, but many have come to see prayer as nothing more than calling upon their Heavenly when they are drowning in their daily circumstances. Certainly, God has more for us than that. Jesus said that because He was going to the Father, we would do even greater works than He did. When He spoke these words, He was speaking to every person who names Jesus as Lord and Savior. He was speaking to you and me.
We are soldiers of the Lord called to fight for the faith we profess. Paul says in Ephesians 6:12 that we do not fight against flesh and blood but against powers, rulers of darkness and principalities, and rulers in the heavenly realm. So once you join the body of Christ you join a battle and you are a soldier. And no soldier fights alone. Every soldier belongs to an army. You are a soldier belonging to the army of the Lord.
The issue of salvation happens to be one of the most controversial topics among Christians in contemporary society. Well, this ought not to be the case. The Bible, which should be and is the only source of truth for every Christian, is rather simplistic in presenting this subject. It explores this subject in a manner that most of us, if not all, can decipher. However, most of us do not yet have a proper understanding of this subject, either out of ignorance or false indoctrination.
SACRIFICIAL LOVE by AUGUSTINE LUYINGWA.
Love is the ultimate expression of God’s relationship to humanity which is encapsulated in what we term sacrificial Love. We can never explain or understand God outside His Love, 1st John 4:8this does not mean God's Love but His expression to us which He expects us to relate with one another.
Sacrifice simply means to give up or loose something for the sake of another person. What God Has ever done is to sacrifice for humanity to the extent of corrupting heaven for us. His sacrifice has gone beyond human understanding to the of substituting His nature for Human beings. 2nd Cor 5:21, He is made sin for us to be His righteousness. This is the highest form God showed and sacrificed His Love for us, the death, resurrection, and the New Life in His Son Jesus.
Something intriguing is that God always wants us to know that He loves us and in this knowledge we shall approach Him in confidence knowing that nothing can hinder us from accessing that which we need. Heb 4:16. It is in the fullness of this Love which we have received that we relate with each other and we are even prompted to share the life we have received and evangelize to others so that they can walk in the freedom and the peace which we have in Christ Jesus.
Though we have been born of God, we cannot receive anything apart from understanding the depth of His Love, Ephesians 3:17-19. It is in the Love men understand how much God Has poured to them from the abundance and when this is made a reality, we are able to be filled and walk in the fullness of what has already been deposited in our spirits.
It just hit me, do you know it is a sin to do anything without faith, Romans 13:24. It is so big a sin to know the immense Love of God and refuse to walk in the acknowledgment of the great things we have received from God. Do you know it is only a man who has faith who can accept that God Loves them without comparing the Love of God to their weaknesses and therefore approaching God in understanding? Ephesians 1:4, God Loved us before the foundations of the earth therefore His Love is not a dependent variable on how we go around it.
It is very clear that effectuality can only be achieved through acknowledging good things in God through Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6, the good Love of God can be made a reality by continuously recognizing it.
What then has the sacrificial Love of God brought in the life of a believer?
The Love God has given the believer confidence in what we have received in Christ Jesus even as we wait upon His appearance in the Hope of Glory, 1st John 4:17-18. This has given us ground to walk in understanding our fate as believers we do it not in fear but in power and confidence 2nd Tim 1:7.
Through this Love we have been made sons in fullness, 1st Cor 6:17 By Him uniting us to Him he has made us as He is unto His Nature because He is a father of spirits Heb 12:9b, therefore as He is so we are in the spirit for we share in His nature for His Glory according to His own will 1st Cor 2:9-16.
In this Love, we have received eternal life embodied in the eternal salvation we have gotten from Him. John 3:16, by the virtue that we believe in His Love He has given access into eternity through us being sons. John 1:12.
Last but not least He has made us worshippers in Him through the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. Philippians 3:3, We are circumcision that worships God in the spirit…rejoice in Christ Jesus. This shows directly that the bit of us being worshippers wholly depends on the sacrifice made through Christ because of His Love. Through the sacrifice of Christ, worshippers have been abl3 to have a mind of no sin consciousness and through purification, as the worshipper is perfected in God with no reminder of sin and with exemption from dead works, Hebrew 10:1-4. Hooray, hallelujah, we are the worshippers God seeks and in Him, He has made us for His own praise.
What then shall we say of the great Love of God, it so great beyond the understanding of the Human mind Ephesians 3:18. There is nothing that can separate us from the Love of God which He has put on the line for the sake of them that He has called according to His knowledge, Roman 8:35. We have been fully encapsulated in His Love and therefore I repeat again that there is nothing absolutely nothing that can separate us from the Love of God. GLORY TO GOD.
THE WORD OF GOD by EDWIN NDEGWA
“The entrance of your word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple”
Psalms 119:30
Understanding the place of the word of God in a believer’s life is the best gift that he/she can ever acquire. Do we really need to take our time and study the word of God? Let’s have a look at this…
Being a believer does not separate us from experiencing the challenges of this world. It does not make us live in our own world where the only people we interact with are our fellow believers. It does not stop us from encountering situations that may easily lead us to sin, get anxious, and encounter different forms of darkness.
It's her wedding day, but she's not happy. She's not sad too, she doesn't know what she's feeling because anyway, she has seen this happening through her nine years of existence and she has to go through this too. It is the norm of her society. She first has to go through the cut, a wedding can't happen without it, not when a village elder is the 'lucky prince charming'.
A painful 'honeymoon' awaits the poor nine-year-old female child, one, because she's young, and as if that is not enough, she has just gone through the cut, and sadly she is not even allowed to heal. (A village elder needs not to wait for her to heal or even better, for her to physically mature, he needs a wife, a young wife! Urgently!) She knows she doesn't have a life ahead, not when she's not allowed to go to school like her outcast female friends, not when she is only an object- an object of childbearing, an object of pleasure, a child doomed to be married by a man double her father's age.
As she sits on the hot sand older women surround her bleeding body as one of the women is sewing the cut, the poor child restrains her tears because she is not supposed to cry in the ritual. Her heart is full of bitterness both for her sad life and for the sad life she's about to go through. She's not the only one, even the ones taking her through the cut have gone through the same life, only that maybe they were not lucky enough to have a village elder as their husbands.
Life for them takes the same turn over and over through the years. Darkness reigns in not only their culture and traditions but also in their hearts. They know not light because anyway where Christ does not reign, darkness reigns! We rarely think about this, or rather, we don't even know this happens somewhere in our very own country. People living in darkness, in chains of culture and traditions, yet we swim in ignorance of this.
Our selfish culture will tell us to "mind our own business" Yet people will be born and perish in darkness without the knowledge of Christ all their lives. Their poor souls are doomed to hell, yet we are the messengers of the good news, the light of the world meant to shine in the darkness.
Our prayer therefore should be; "Break our hearts for what breaks yours Lord, send us wherever you would want us to go and shine your light because that is our very purpose in life." So help us, Lord.

It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the Earth (Isaiah 49:6)
Did Jesus Christ fail to provide a reasonable demonstration of ways to fulfill the great commission to his disciples at the last minute before ascending to heaven?
Consider, for a moment, how compassionately Jesus exploited the following encounters with Samaritans and Greeks to help His disciples think in cross-cultural terms.
In the Samaritan village where Jesus and His band were rejected, but He never gave up on His purpose to save lives and the story of the Greeks who would later be represented in the blessing after Jesus' crucifixion!
Jesus made it clear that everyone including the Turkana people, could enter that kingdom through the difficult, narrow gate of repentance and faith in God, a message appropriate to an 'all peoples' outlook, going beyond unimportant nationalistic expectations.
In Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. The mighty motive, 'then the end will come' will guide us. I don't know when the end will come. And yet I do know this; when the church has finished her task of evangelizing the world, Christ will come again. The word of God says it. Why did Christ not come in AD 500 or rather in AD 1000? Because the church had not yet finished her task of world evangelization. Is He coming soon? He is- if we, God's people, are obedient to the command of the Lord to take the gospel into all the Nations, Turkana being our Target nation. Do you like the Lord's appearing? Then you'll bend every effort to take the gospel into the land of Turkana, the good news of the kingdom. Satan is defeated and bound, death is conquered and sin is broken.
All authority is His, ' go ye, therefore '. When we've accomplished our mission, He'll return and establish His kingdom in glory. To us it's given not only to wait, but also to hasten the coming of the day of God, which is the mission of the gospel of the kingdom, and this is our mission.
How then shall Turkana people call on the one they have not believed in ? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!
Let's share God's plan for ages with the Turkana people, which gives life an eternal significance. The greatest effort you can make is obedience to the Lord ' go ye therefore.
Turkana Mission, Christ the hope of glory.

IS IT THE MATTER OF HEART OR THE HEART OF THE MATTER, THAT MATTERS? By Jimnah Chege
Looking at the title, I know you must be very eager to know what is this person trying to mean? But we are getting to the point soon. The question of, “is it bad to do this and this” has been frequently asked by believers. This has affected the most controversial areas of Christian Life such as music and dressing. The answer of yes or no is not satisfying to the one asking the questions. Instead if the answer is used, the person asking will be left either wrongly satisfied or with much more questions.

Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had devoted himself to study and observance of the law of the Lord and to teaching it’s decree and laws in Israel (NIV)
In every kingdom there is an order that is usually followed and the violation if that order and patterns in which things are done leads to different results rather than the required ones. In most African communities they had an order in which they conducted their activities and events such as dowry payment, weddings, burials among others. Among the Kikuyu community for instance if you receive dowry and you hadn’t paid yours, you are not supposed to use it until you first pay your dowry. Failure to observance of this order can lead to mysterious diseases that machines and doctors aren’t able to detect and treat.
1st Thessalonians 4:3-7
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we all forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanliness but to holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man but God who has also given us his holy spirit.
Our commitment to the love of God is usually measured through various ways.
