1 COR 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.’

God is the author of relationships. And for that case it is very true to conclude that godly romantic relationships are a blessing! Through these relationships we get to experience the extent of His love.

But then it is always wise to remember that to every godly blessing is tied to it a condition. And today,

it’s very important to remember what really God’s standard is.

It is a blessed fact that what men of old greatly desired is today in our day a reality in experience; and that’s the Holy Spirit. In the old testament He was carried by very few but today every child of God has Him dwelling in them as the Gift of God. He is the ‘Treasure in the earthen vessels’ (2 cor 4:7). And that vessel is you and me. Therefore we really must know His will in our romantic relationships.

Now revelation (Eph 1:17-18, Hab 2:1) is what births faith (Rom 10:17, Heb 11:1); and faith forms our convictions which leads us to crisis moment; which in turn affects our actions. (Because faith without actions is dead). Therefore it is very important to ask the Lord to open our eyes to see! Now faith reckons with divine facts. That is, in the word of God I see something (revelation), then I become persuaded of it (faith), and hence I change where necessary to express the conviction I have.

And today I want us to see something—not just read it but see it— from the above scripture. It’s a fact that the Spirit of God dwells in every born again child of God. It’s important we see this! And hence my body is His temple—His dwelling place. He resides in us. This should immediately stir up a consciousness in us. That God sees our bodies as His houses through His Holy Spirit. Everywhere I go He is in me. Therefore I will learn to draw from Him and Rom 12:1 will be my daily experience and will no longer be hard. He is in you! It’s a fact. We are not our own.

Today being a Valentine’s day, when we reckon with this truth about our bodies, then Rom 6:13 will be our experience. We won’t offer our bodies as instruments of wickedness but as people alive unto God we will offer the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness. Consequently we shall answer the call of 1 Pet 1:15-16, to be holy as the one who has called us is holy. I therefore urge you God’s child that may we then honor God with our bodies (1 Cor 6:20) and   maintain sexual purity in our romantic relationships.

God Bless You.
